Jean Anne hails from the east coast, growing up in NY and NJ; she moved to Seattle in 2000. Her career in fitness began way back in 1997. She is an A.C.E. certified Personal Trainer, and certified through the American College of Sports Medicine as a Fitness Specialist. It took six years of hard work, but she achieved black belt status in the art of Okinawan Goju-ryu Karate-do in 1999. She has been channeling her inner Chuck Norris ever since.
Jean Anne is an avid endurance athlete. She has completed the Canadian Ironman twice, NYC Marathon twice, 24 Hours of Adrenaline mountain bike race twice and is always impressed at her ability to do things for a really long time.
Jean Anne’s interest in CrossFit began after watching the movie ”300” for the 3rd time and wondering how the Spartans became so fit. She started training in CrossFit in 2010 and now holds her CrossFit Level-1 Trainer certificate, CrossFit Goalsetting certificate, and Crossfit Endurance certificate. She has competed at the CrossFit Open and in Hostile Takeover.
When Jean Anne is not training and coaching, her other interests include backcountry skiing, learning to play the Ukelele, reading, and perfecting her blow dart gun skills.
She prefers her jelly beans raw.
